Derek O’Rourke

Derek O’Rourke is a former member of the Irish Defence Forces were he served for 4 years until 1993. He has held various part-time and full-time security positions since his discharge most notably working alongside the US Secret Service in a third party security managerial capacity on the visits of Presidents George W Bush, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama to Ireland. Derek is also a former Paramedic Supervisor for the National Ambulance service of Ireland where he served for 12 years (2000 – 2012) before committing to a full-time role as General Manager with Pulse Security In Dublin, Ireland. In late 2014 he moved his family to Toronto, Canada to assume the role of Director of Operations for a global event security company who have several offices in Nth. America before becoming Vice-President Operations Nth. America for said company in early 2018.

In total, he has over 24 years of Security and Anti-terrorism strategy in project management positions, a member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators as well as a member of the Toronto chapter of ASIS. Derek has overseen third-party security operations in Dublin’s 60,000 capacity Aviva Stadium, the opening stage of the G’Iro d’Italia 2014 and has project managed security for the first installment of the Star Wars sequel “The Force Awakens” some of which was filmed in Ireland. He has also project managed third-party security operations for most of Nth. Americas leading sports and entertainment events and venues, such as:
